General Market Conditions from a Recruiters Perspective

I have a lot of people calling me these days just to find out what the market is like out there.  With the financial markets struggling from the aftermath of the sub prime fall out, the talk of recession, gas prices (ouch), and the general weakness in the dollar, you would think hiring would fall.  Perhaps it has in certain industries.  However,  in the technology market (unlike the 2001 recession) it seems to be holding up very well.  

I think this is because technology and the internet have become so integral in our day to day lives that companies can't afford to be without it and some base their entire business model around it.  Take for instance Myspace.  I know my son uses this site daily (in fact he breaks up and gets back together with his girlfriend over Myspace email! ).  That is just one example, but my point is that technology (especially in the younger generation) is a way of life now.  And businesses have responded.  

Unlike the last downturn, technology is not the center point of the bust.  That is good news for all of us!

Featured Position  

We have several openings for Systems Administrators in Colorado.  They are looking for admins that have experience in managing large scale installations couple with knowledge of web servers, proxy servers, firewalls, DNS, and TCP/IP.  Any experience in a CDN environment or with Flash servers or with caching is a definite plus.  This company has a bonus plan written into your offer letter and will help with relocation costs for the right person.  These positions are posted in the career opportunities section.
